Cala Ratjada is located on the northeastern coast of Mallorca and is part of the municipality of Capdepera. The coastal town is situated about 80 kilometers east of Palma and about 75 kilometers from Palma Airport. The town center extends around the harbor and features shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, and amenities for daily needs. The harbor also serves as the departure point for sightseeing boats and offers seasonal ferry service to Menorca.

Several beaches and coves are located in the immediate vicinity of Cala Ratjada. Cala Gat is southeast of the town center, and Son Moll is just south of the harbor. The expansive Cala Agulla and the smaller Cala Moltó are east of the town and can be reached by road and footpaths. The Canyamel Golf Course is about 10 kilometers away, Artà is about 12 kilometers away, and Manacor is about 30 kilometers away. Palma can be reached by car in about an hour via the MA-15.
